Black Girls Drink

Black Girls Drink (BGD) is a community platform and media organization focused on empowering Black women and non-binary individuals within the beverage industry. Rather than functioning as a traditional manufacturer or supplier, the company operates as a community hub and resource network dedicated to amplifying the voices, stories, and careers of Black women and non-binary professionals working across the full spectrum of the beverage world — including beer, wine, spirits, and other drink categories. The platform maintains a curated directory known as the BGD 100, which highlights over 100 Black women and non-binary individuals active in beer, wine, and other beverage segments. This resource serves as both a discovery tool and a celebration of representation within an industry that has historically lacked diversity at its professional and leadership levels. BGD's dual mission centers on two pillars: building a robust, connected community of Black beverage professionals and enthusiasts, and spreading their stories widely to increase visibility and awareness. The organization publishes a blog and distributes a monthly newsletter covering Black beverage news, industry resources, and community updates, keeping its members informed and engaged. The platform invites members to join the BGD community through a subscription model, fostering ongoing engagement through curated content and networking opportunities. Its target audience includes Black women and non-binary people both within the beverage trade — as makers, sommeliers, brewers, distillers, and entrepreneurs — and among consumers who seek to discover and support Black-owned or Black-led beverage brands and professionals. Black Girls Drink occupies a unique niche as a media, community, and advocacy platform within the CPG beverage space, positioning itself as an essential resource for diversity and inclusion efforts in the drinks industry.
