Barrel Heads Liquor Market & Tasting Bar

Barrel Heads Liquor Market & Tasting Bar is a specialty retail liquor store and in-store tasting bar located in Owensboro, Kentucky. The establishment focuses on curating an extensive and diverse selection of spirits, with a particular emphasis on American whiskey and bourbon. With more than 800 whiskey expressions available, the store caters to both casual enthusiasts and serious collectors seeking rare, hard-to-find, and limited-release bottles. A defining feature of the business is its exclusive single barrel selection program, through which the team handpicks individual barrels from well-known distilleries to offer customers unique, store-exclusive bottlings. Past and current single barrel picks include offerings from brands such as Old Forester, Bardstown Bourbon Company, and Bluegrass Distillers, among others. These private barrel selections are a key differentiator, giving customers access to expressions not available elsewhere. Beyond whiskey and bourbon, Barrel Heads also maintains a curated assortment of craft beer and wine, rounding out its appeal to a broad range of adult beverage consumers. The in-store whiskey tasting bar provides an experiential retail component, allowing customers to sample spirits before purchasing and deepening their appreciation for the category. The store has demonstrated community involvement through charitable initiatives, such as donating proceeds from select bottle releases to local scholarship funds like the Kentucky Wesleyan College Scholarship Fund. Barrel Heads positions itself as a destination retail experience in western Kentucky, blending product depth, expert curation, and hands-on consumer engagement to serve both local clientele and visitors to the Owensboro area.
