Banks Beer

Banks Holdings Limited (BHL) is Barbados' leading beverage conglomerate, founded in 1991 when Banks (Barbados) Breweries Ltd. acquired the Barbados Bottling Co. Ltd., combining decades of brewing and soft-drink manufacturing expertise under one company. Its operations span three core pillars: Banks (Barbados) Breweries Ltd., which produces the flagship Banks beer and other Caribbean craft beverages; Barbados Dairy Industries Ltd., the island's sole dairy producer supplying milk and juice products; and Delivery and Handling Services (Barbados) Ltd., a joint venture with Coca-Cola Southern Caribbean (KOSCAB) that manages regional beverage distribution. Combined, the group's manufacturing legacy spans more than a century, and it commands a major share of the Caribbean's alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage market. Over its history, BHL diversified into real estate and regional beverage partnerships, absorbed a government-owned dairy operation, built out its own distribution network, and opened a state-of-the-art brewery in Newton, Christ Church in 2011. The company's ownership has evolved through several major transactions: Anheuser-Busch InBev acquired BHL in 2016, the Barbados Bottling Company was sold to KOSCAB (Coca-Cola Southern Caribbean) in 2018, and in 2025 KOSCAB Holdings Ltd acquired a majority interest in SLU Beverages Ltd, which now includes both BHL in Barbados and the Saint Vincent Brewery Limited in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. BHL positions its competitive advantage as a combination of elite talent, international manufacturing and quality standards, creative management, and homegrown Bajan innovation, and it continues to operate as an active, trading beverage and dairy manufacturer and distributor based in Bridgetown, Barbados.
