Balter Beerworks

Balter Beerworks is a scratch kitchen brewpub located in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee, operating out of a rehabilitated historic service station. Founded in February 2016, the company grew from a home-brewing passion project into a full-service brewpub that combines award-winning, in-house crafted beers with made-from-scratch food. The establishment prides itself on preparing every menu item and beer fresh daily, sourcing the freshest ingredients available and continuously rotating both food and beer menus to reflect seasonal offerings and local delicacies. The venue blends urban aesthetics with the character of the original service station building, creating a welcoming atmosphere for friends and family. Beyond its core brewpub operations, Balter Beerworks offers event hosting through its beer garden, which is designed for lively gatherings and private celebrations. The company also provides turn-key catering and bar services, bringing its craft beer and scratch food experience directly to off-site events. The name 'Balter' is derived from a verb meaning to dance artlessly but with enjoyment, reflecting the brand's approachable, unpretentious philosophy toward craft beer and food culture.
